    Seeking Psychotherapy

I am interested in psychotherapy. There are two reasons. One, I would like to be able to control my anger better. It doesnt happen often and I have actually learned recently how to remove myself mentally from the situation and try to become more "aware" of the situation as a whole. This has had tremendous benefit in controlling and evaporating my anger.

The real reason is to become a better person. I want to know myself better and understand the world around me and my relationships with others better. I have been seeking some type of nirvana (for lack of a better term) for the past while. I think that psychotherapy is the next logical step. I participate in introspection through philosophy, meditation, religious study, and consciousness study.

Cutting to the chase, as it were, I was curious if you had any advice on what type of therapist to seek, if you know of any in the Dallas area you would reccomend, and if you had any insight yourself.

    Thanks for your time!

The American Board of Professional Psychology will have board certified psychologists in your area.

Psychotherapy may exceed your needs which may be more appropriately handled by classes in anger management.
